VACUUM DRYER

Lödige DRUVATHERM^® Shovel Dryers are batch-process, high speed vacuum dryers. The mixing elements, adapted to the process and rotating in a cylindrical drum, jacketed for temperature control, generate a three dimensional movement of the product. The resultant frequent contact of particles with the heat transfer surface shortens the drying times to a minimum.

Mode of Operation

The high speed mixing elements force intensive contact of individual product particle with the heated wall of the machine. Choppers, installed in the side of the machine and rotating at high speed, provide additional dispersion when the product passes from the agglomeration phase to the powder phase. In this way the surface area is enlarged increasing drying efficiency. Fine particles picked up in the solvent vapours are separated out in the pneumatically cleaned filter mounted on the machine and returned to the drying bed of product.
